Gallatin, Tennessee – Sumner County Schools are set to see significant leadership changes with the appointment of new principals at two key educational institutions. Dr. Scott Langford, the Director of Schools in Sumner County, has recently announced these important updates.
Dr. Racheal Mason to Lead White House Intermediate School
Dr. Langford has named Dr. Racheal Mason as the principal of the new White House Intermediate School, slated to open next fall. Dr. Mason, a graduate of White House High School, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has spent the past five years as the principal of Station Camp Elementary School. Her journey in education includes serving as principal at Lakeside Park Elementary and as a lead educator at Merrol Hyde Magnet School and H.B. Williams Elementary.
Dr. Mason’s dedication to education is evident from her early career as a classroom teacher at H.B. Williams Elementary, where she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2014. Reflecting on her time at Station Camp, Dr. Mason said, “It has been an honor to serve the Station Camp community for the past five years. I am grateful for the partnership among our students, staff and families, and I am proud of the work we have accomplished together. I am humbled to return to my hometown as principal of White House Intermediate and look forward to the journey ahead.”
Dr. Langford praised Dr. Mason’s appointment, stating, “She is an outstanding leader and will be a strong addition to the White House cluster. Her experience as a principal at Lakeside Park and Station Camp Elementary will guide her as she opens our new school in White House.” Dr. Mason will continue her role at Station Camp Elementary until the end of the current school year, after which Dr. Langford will appoint a new principal for the upcoming academic year.
Dr. David Kinman Appointed Principal at R.T. Fisher Alternative School
Another significant appointment in the district is that of Dr. David Kinman as the principal of R.T. Fisher Alternative School. Dr. Kinman, who has spent the last decade as an assistant principal at Beech High School, will assume his new role in January. His extensive experience also includes serving as an assistant principal at T.W. Hunter Middle School and as a behavioral consultant for the district.
Dr. Kinman is set to replace Melinda Norman, who has accepted a new position in the district office. Expressing his enthusiasm, Dr. Kinman said, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to go to R.T. Fisher. I have long had a passion to help those students who often struggle in the traditional classroom setting. I loved my time here at Beech High School and I would not trade it for anything, but I am excited at the opportunity to lead a school I have long felt called to be a part of.”
Dr. Langford commended Dr. Kinman’s appointment, emphasizing his ability to make a significant impact: “He has a huge heart to help students overcome adversity and build towards their future.”
These leadership changes reflect Sumner County Schools’ commitment to enhancing educational experiences and providing strong guidance for their students and staff. With Dr. Mason and Dr. Kinman at the helm of their respective schools, the future of education in Sumner County looks bright and promising.
