Suspect arrested in Goodlettsville homicide case

Goodlettsville, Tennessee – Goodlettsville police have successfully apprehended a suspect in a homicide case. This arrest marks a crucial step in the investigation of a tragic incident that occurred on Nov. 1.

The case began when police were called to a distressing scene on the 800 block of Springfield Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered Jerqune Bassham suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Despite prompt medical attention and being rushed to Skyline Medical Center, Bassham’s injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

In the wake of this tragedy, investigators diligently worked to piece together the events that led to Bassham’s death. Their efforts led to the identification of Shaquan Lee Weber as the primary suspect in the shooting. In a coordinated effort, Metro Police assisted Goodlettsville Police in apprehending Weber in East Nashville on Monday.

Following his arrest, Weber was booked into the Sumner County Jail. He faces charges of second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a handgun. These charges reflect the severity of the crime and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to bring justice to the case.
