Single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Sumner County results in fatality

Sumner County, Tennessee – A devastating single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Sumner County resulted in the loss of a life on Thursday afternoon. The accident, which disrupted traffic for hours, has left the community and authorities piecing together the events that led to this unfortunate incident.

David Kuczinski, a 57-year-old man, tragically lost his life in the accident. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. Kuczinski was driving his 2022 Ford Ranger between the Millersville and Ridgetop exits on Interstate 65 when he lost control of the vehicle.

The report detailed that Kuczinski’s vehicle veered off the road onto the left shoulder and subsequently struck a guardrail. This collision caused the Ford Ranger to overturn, eventually coming to a halt on the driver’s side. Notably, Kuczinski was wearing a seatbelt at the time, as indicated in the preliminary report.

The crash had a significant impact on traffic flow, with I-65 North experiencing considerable backups for a couple of hours following the incident. The highway patrol and emergency responders worked diligently to manage the scene and restore normal traffic conditions.
